One of Kierkegaard’s arguments for the authenticity of the Christian faith is that that it must be true because it is not something that anyone would make up. I find this to be a compelling thought. If one considers the whole story of Christianity along with its key teachings (particularly the Christian concept of “grace”) it does seem unlikely that someone would make this up. It must be God’s idea.
