When the Bible says that God is love it’s not trying to help
us understand that if we love God then He will love us back. What it is saying is that love is part of the
very nature of God and, therefore, all true love has God as its source. This is
why we can know with confidence that God loves us unconditionally. This is extraordinarily good news!
