Look up at the sky at night and try to think about how vast
it is. There’s a sense in which it is
incomprehensible to our minds. In the
Psalms this basic concept is used to attempt to provide a description of God’s
“unfailing love” for us. “Your unfailing
love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens…” Psalm 36:5. You and I have dignity, value and worth
because we are perfectly, completely and unfailingly loved beyond any capacity
for measurement by the Creator and Lord of the Universe.
