There’s a sense in which God doesn’t need our help in any practical way. He’ll be fine no matter what we do. So, it can be easy to profess our love for Him. That’s why God calls us to demonstrate love by helping our brothers and sisters who do need our assistance in practical ways. “…For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.” 1John4:20
