Distinguishing Love From Desire

We sometimes have trouble distinguishing “love” from “desire”.  Desire involves the will to possess something or someone.  Desire is me-centered.  Real love, on the other hand, means that we want what is best for someone—we actively want what will benefit the one we love.  Love is other-centered.  The distinction between these two is important.
