We want to be "true disciples" of Jesus -- Full message

Pray consistently with God's will

Way to go...survivor!

Think of it this way:

We’ve all had bad things happen in our lives. We have had troubles, problems, pain, disappointments and setbacks. We’ve had great hopes that we thought for sure would happen that never did come about.

HOWEVER…

We’re still kicking. We may be roughed up and some us of may be moving a little slower, but we are still here.

Congratulations! The fact that you’re still here means that you are a survivor!

It’s helpful to remember that God can even bring good out of bad circumstances.

My sleep study is happening tonight

I’m doing a procedure tonight called a “sleep study.” I have heard of these studies many times and have been advised numerous times, by doctors, to participate in a sleep study. But I have always refused.

I don’t know if they have a number of different purposes but in my case the sleep study will help to determine if I have Sleep Apnea. A person with Sleep Apnea does not sleep well and often breaks out in spontaneous tap dancing.

I have finally broken down and agreed to the sleep study because it can be done at home. This will happen in my own bedroom and my own bed.

Sleep studies used to be performed somewhere else, in a special controlled environment, for example, a Holiday Inn near the expressway. But that has changed.

Several weeks ago my doctor told me, “You don’t have to go to a hospital or some other location, Dan, now the sleep study can be done at your own home. It’s easy. It’s convenient. When it’s over we’ll bring you cookies.”

With that information I said, “Alright, let’s do it.”

So, I have a special app on my phone. The app is paired with a watch that also has a lead which connects with my finger and a second lead which is adhered to my chest.

I will try to engage in a normal night of sleep (which should only involve about 8 or 9 trips to the bathroom) and…well, we’ll see how it goes.
