This blog contains comments and teaching regarding living the Christian faith and comments on the intersection of faith and many other aspects of life from pop culture to science. It also has some stories--hopefully they are amusing stories--from my life. ~Dan

Are Miracles A Bunch of Nonsense?
Folks who are skeptical about the Christian faith read the
accounts of miracles in the Bible and they say, “This is nonsense! We know
these kinds of things could never happen.”
But, in a way, the more fundamental issue is not the miracles. The more fundamental issue is the existence of
God.
If God does not exist then the miracle accounts are
absurd. However, if God does exist—if an
all-powerful, Creator exists—then certainly He is capable of doing things that
would be miraculous to our understanding of reality. I believe He exists.

Miracles Aren't Hard For God
If someone tells me they do not
believe that miracles are possible, that tells me something about their view of
God. Either 1) they do not believe God
exists; or 2) they do not believe in the Almighty God of the Bible. Since I believe in the God revealed in the
Bible—the God who can literally speak the entire universe into existence—I’m
convinced that miracles are, frankly, no sweat for Him.

Do You Believe In Christmas?
If you believe in miracles. If you understand that it is better to give than to receive. If you believe that humility can be a profound form of strength. If you believe that God really does love you and care about you and that your life is meaningful. If you believe that we really do NEED a Savior. If you believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior. Then, guess what? YOU believe in Christmas! Merry Christmas fellow believer!
