Sometimes we Christians act shocked and defeated when we
face opposition to our faith in Christ.
Opposition should not surprise us.
We’ve known for a long time that “the message of the cross is foolishness”
to those who do not walk with Christ. (1Cor. 1:18). We know that Jesus faced opposition and He
still faces opposition. Opposition is
not a strange new development.
Nevertheless, we need to stand firm with Paul (who faced a bit of
opposition) and say, “For I AM NOT ASHAMED of this Good News about Christ. It
is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes…” (Rom. 1:16).
