This is my explanation of Matthew 16:25. Jesus is saying, “You think the wisest course of action would be for you to hang on to your life, direct the course of your life, and make all the choices regarding your life but, actually, that’s the road to squandering your life. Believe it or not, if you will surrender your life to me, that’s how your life will find its optimal expression.”
