Someone asked me recently, “Dan, what would be an example of a bad prayer?” His feeling was: Anytime someone prays, that’s a good thing, right? In general, that’s true. But I think we could say that a “dishonest” prayer would be a bad one. God always wants us to come to Him in complete honesty. Don’t worry, He can handle it. He knows the truth, anyhow, right?

I was going to say a bad prayer might be praying for something that you know is against God's will - but then I couldn't see why anyone would ever do that. It's not like you can trick God.
True, we can't trick God. But I think it's possible that some people have prayed for things that they knew were against God's will. People can be illogical in that way, sometimes. And, you're right, Mary, that wouldn't be a very good prayer.
