The Greater Contribution Comes From The Development of Gifts and Talents

I believe it will be of greater benefit to focus more on the development and utilization of our strengths than trying to improve the areas in which we are weak.  This is not to suggest that weak areas should be completely ignored it is simply recognizing that our greatest contributions are more likely to come from those areas in which we can genuinely excel.

The Importance of Helping To Develop The Gifts of Others

When we see talents, aptitudes, skills and possibilities in others and help them recognize those things in themselves we are assisting in the development of that person. This is an important part of what it means to live responsibly. Interestingly, this kind of action which helps others is also helpful to our own growth and maturity.

Seizing The Opportunity To Act

When God provides opportunities and allows us to be in certain situations, there is potentiality that God has set into play.  Then we have the opportunity to act.  We are in a position to do something with the gifts, talents, or abilities He has given us. We could say, at that point, that we are in a position to play our God-given part in advancing His kingdom.
