There are some issues that I have prayed about for a long
time and sometimes I think, “When, God?” Or, “Are you listening?” Someone might be inclined to tell me, “Forget
it. Give up. You’re wasting your time.” But I trust that God cares about me and I
trust that He knows. So, I believe that
I should keep praying.

God Is Listening And Prayer Matters
It’s possible that, for reasons that we don’t know, we may
have to pray about a particular matter for years and years. We will be tempted
to give up and say, “Ah, forget it. It’s
pointless. God is not listening.” Keep
praying. Be persistent. We don’t understand all the reasons why things happen
the way they do. But God is listening.
And prayer matters!

Persevering In Prayer
When we persevere in prayer regarding a matter—over a lengthy period of time—that can give us the opportunity to mature in our thinking about the matter. Sometimes, when we do this, we come to see some truths regarding the issue that we couldn’t see when we first began praying about it. “…Always pray and never give up.” Luke 18:1
