Last night,
we put up the Christmas tree, the lights and other decorations.
When we
finished the adornments, we turned off the other lights and the next thing you
know we were all sitting together, Nadia, Rachel, Taylor and I with the room
lit only by the Christmas lights, as Christmas music played. It was one of those lovely, unplanned family
Christmas moments.
(If I
had tried to engineer a moment like this, it’s unlikely that it would have
happened.)
At one
point the song that was playing had these lyrics:
This,
this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him love,
The Babe, the son of Mary.
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him love,
The Babe, the son of Mary.
One of
my favorite carols. My heart was filled
with thankfulness, peace, love and joy.
