It's Helpful When People See The Truth of Jesus Through The Way We Live

There is a time and place for offering a rigorous, spirited, intellectual defense of the Christian faith.  Christians are challenged, in the Bible, to be prepared for those times. However, it is always time to allow people to see the truth of the living Jesus through the loving, gracious, joyful, Christ-like way we live our lives.

Thoughts About The Billy Graham Special

I watched a Billy Graham special last night.  It was well done but, essentially, it featured a 95 year old man giving a basic presentation of the Christian gospel.

As the show unfolded I prayed that somehow this simple—not very flashy—program would be empowered by the Holy Spirit and that many people who were watching would be moved.  I prayed that eyes would be opened to the truth of Jesus and that hearts would turn toward Him.

Could that happen?  Could lots of people actually come to Christ from something this simple?

Yes.  There is surprising power in the truth of the message of Jesus, and who He is, and what He has done.  There were people watching that program last night who were ready.  They were hungry to hear that message.  And, once again, God used his long-time faithful servant.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes…”  Romans 1:16

Don't Let Religious People Be A Distraction From Jesus

I know there are some religious people who can be a great disappointment and, frankly, a pain in the…in the… rear end!  (See how diplomatic I can be, when I make the effort?)  But, don’t let those people distract you from the truth of Jesus and who He is.

Stand Firm In The Faith

Stand firm in the faith.  Don’t give up.  There are some who would like us to feel embarrassed or silly or foolish or dumb for being a follower of Jesus.  Don’t be intimidated.  The power of God for life—real life, eternal life—is found in the truth of Jesus.

Standing For Jesus Anyhow

There will always be places where standing up for the truth of Jesus will be unpopular.  There will always be groups of people who will be bothered and offended by the truth of Jesus.  Those who truly follow Jesus will gently and lovingly, yet boldly and courageously stand for Jesus anyhow.
