This blog contains comments and teaching regarding living the Christian faith and comments on the intersection of faith and many other aspects of life from pop culture to science. It also has some stories--hopefully they are amusing stories--from my life. ~Dan

112 Days Until Summer
After shoveling the patio and sidewalk leading out to the
parking area—through snow which was about 7 to 8 inches deep—I heard a weather
report which forecasted even more snow on the way. In case you were wondering,
this is when I shake my head and laugh because lying on the floor and crying is
unbecoming of a man my age.
By the way, I’m including a photo that I took in Fort
Myers, Florida about 4 weeks ago because… well… I don’t know… I guess because
in my own odd way it reminds me that God has a sense of humor.
112 days until summer.

Turning Snow Shoveling Into Something Positive!
While I
was shoveling snow this morning I reminded myself that I was getting a great
workout with that type of vigorous activity. This was my way of thinking in a
positive manner about a situation that could be viewed in a negative way.
Then I went inside and ate a bag of M&Ms which is another way of taking a negative situation—too much chocolate lying around the house –and making it into something positive.
Perhaps now you can see why I’m considered to be the eternal optimist!
