Our lives don’t happen in a vacuum. Who we are and what we
do affects other people. It is a lie to say, “what I do is just about me.” All
of us are connected to something larger than just ourselves. We are part of a social unit that is more
than just ourselves. This reality is
essential to the basic understanding of community.
