For Christians, the primary goal of learning and growth is
not to win arguments. Here’s a good way
of putting it: “All followers of Jesus should remember that the purpose of
study is not to accumulate facts or argue a case, but to know the living, risen
Christ. He is not the culmination of a debate, but our living, loving Savior.”
~Dr. Rick Cornish
This blog contains comments and teaching regarding living the Christian faith and comments on the intersection of faith and many other aspects of life from pop culture to science. It also has some stories--hopefully they are amusing stories--from my life. ~Dan

The Benefits of Doing Something New
Every now and then I do something that I’ve never done
before—which is often uncomfortable. But
I find that in these times I’m forced to really pay attention and be fully
present. These are times of learning and
growth. And I believe that this kind of
stretching is part of living the full, interesting and engaged life that God
has for me.

Growth Requires Stretching
It is the nature of growth and learning that it requires us
to stretch beyond our current level. So,
significant growth is almost always difficult in some way. “There will be nothing learned from any
challenge in which we don’t try our hardest. Growth comes at the point of
resistance.” – Josh Waitzken, The Art of Learning
